Justice Served

Here's a wakeup call to the the Supreme Court. A decision Monday allows cities to confiscate private land for private use ... before, cities could only claim eminent domain when building schools or roads. No more. Now every private dwelling is fair game, as long as the land could generate greater tax revenue.

Can the Justices ask for a do-over??

Weare, New Hampshire (PRWEB) Could a hotel be built on the land owned by Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter? A new ruling by the Supreme Court which was supported by Justice Souter himself itself might allow it. A private developer is seeking to use this very law to build a hotel on Souter's land.

Justice Souter's vote in the "Kelo vs. City of New London" decision allows city governments to take land from one private owner and give it to another if the government will generate greater tax revenue or other economic benefits when the land is developed by the new owner.

Action Shots

The new camera, a Canon 20d, is able to take 5 shots a second. Sounds like a machine gun. Makes it easy to capture sporting shots that the old Powershot, with a second delay, could never hope to.

Gerry's Wedding

Last night found us in downtown L.A., Hotel Figueroa. The hotel is Moroccan themed with none of the Vegas cheesiness. Gerry and Kim tied-the-knot without a hitch, though they must remember to water the grass. Music, Food and Drinks were all top-notch. Great night out. If you're planning a large event or want a quick getaway, check it out.

Tile Floor

The tile floor is in. It took a week but the floor is in. The house looks so much better. This weekend the grout will be sealed so we'll be able to resume normal kitchen operations :-)

Big Frog Blog

After years of the same boring old look, I've updated Big Frog Blog (no longer weblog). I'm using MoveableType 3.17 for the blogging duties. As most things techinical, it took longer to update than I expected with silent failures along the way. But I think I'm back to a working system.

I've also updated the Baby Growth Chart. Don't forget to chart your toddlers progress.
