Every once in a while, the government passes a useful law. While some states have anti-telemarketing lists, the Fed has just introduced one as well. This list bans all telemarketing except political and non-profit orgs. The web site is really busy now, but once you get through you can register three numbers here http://donotcall.gov/ and read more about it here.
Always at work, missing out when the good stuff happens... Vincent just took 5 steps. It can't be long now before he's considered a "walker". Here's to you, Vincent.

Poor ol' Cormac. He was trying to be a good netizen and do a geek a favor and instead is facing the revenge of the nerd. Amazing how people delight in how little power they have.

After a month without a flash, I bought a new digital camera. While I probably should have just sent the old camera back to be repaired, I didn't want to lose my camera for the summer while Canon decides how to fix it (if indeed they'll fix it). So, one of these days I'm going send it back, and a few months later, have a used digital camera in excellent condition for sale. Interested?
Bought the camera Father's Day weekend and luckily walked into the right store -- Good Guys had a $50.00 discount. Normally, I won't shop at Good Guys because I just hate the sales people. This trip did nothing to change my opinion. The sales man kept trying to sell me a bigger memory card ...
Sales Guy: This only comes with a 8MB card -- you'll only be able to store 3 or 4 pictures.
Me: No it doesn't. It comes with a 32MB card.
Sales Guy: This only comes with a 16MB card -- you'll only be able to store a few pictures.
Me: No it doesn't. It comes with 32MB.
Sales Guy Would you like to buy a bigger memory card?
Me: No.
Sales Guy: How about a five year extended warranty?
Me: No.
...
You get the picture.

Katherine's smiling after her first ballet recital. There were a lot of people watching and Katherine was bold enough to come out and do her routine.

In what seemed like a repeat from Groundhog Day, I drove out to visit Suzy and the girls in Norco twice this weekend. Today, Katherine tagged along and got to ride Jazzy. Katherine loves all the animals at her Aunt Suzy's house. Dogs, birds, goats, horses and a pig and a snake. Who needs a petting zoo when you have all that?
Last night, something must have been in the air, because I brought home a dog from Suzy's house ... Reilly, a recently abandoned Jack Russell terrier. Guess it was fun to dog sit for a night, but we don't need three dogs, especially with Vincent on the floor. So today, I brought her back.
