While I joke about moving out of California due to the high taxes (9.3% income tax, 9.75% sales tax, 1.25% property tax), there's something to be said about going boating mid-October. Air was 85F and water 73F. Makes for a great day on the lake, and then to come home and watch the snow bowl in New England, priceless.
