krispy_kreme.jpg Yahoo is a great company to work for. On top of all the usual benefits most companies provide, Yahoo offers a free coffee bar (staffed with baristas foaming your cappuccino) and the Random Acts of Fun Committee. This committee is budgeted to provide employees with something special from time to time to make going to the office fun, anything from Jamba Juice to ice cream to custom made doughnuts. You can tell it's the end of the quarter cause of all the "fun" offered this week.

Monday: Free "seated" massages all week
Tuesday: Krispy Kreme Dougnuts
Wednesday: Lemonade

Which brings me to the title of the peace:

Heaven: eating a Krispy Kreme during massage
Hell: Did I mention that the city shut off water to the building yesterday and all bathrooms were closed on lemonade day?

After 15 years, I'm finally living the dream. Monday was the first day at my new office. My home office. The commute? Head downstairs from the bedroom, take a sharp right, sharp left and that's it. No keys, no ignition. No traffic. No traffic jams. Commute time? 15 seconds, unless the dog gets in the way.

The job? Well, I still work for Yahoo!, but I transfered to a new team. Out of the advertising business and into the Web 2.5 business.

NOTE: This is not Dave. Kind of looks like him though, and this is something he'd do.

This year: three cousins in school, K - 3rd grade. Next year, cousin number 4.

We'll have to buy our own yellow bus soon.

This is our first year seeing a brown praying mantis. She hung out by the doorbell but was gone in the morning. Praying Mantises (Manti?) are great for the garden, feasting on all sorts of pests. Fun to hold too.

Reminds me that I need some more camera lenses ... macro for our insect friends and a zoom for soccer (which starts tomorrow...).
